In 2001, AVG introduced through Automationdirect.com EZSeries Text Panels as direct replacements for the Optimate panels they were selling before. The most significant improvements sought by AVG and ADC were:

1. Better Power Supply
2. Better physical construction and gasket sealing
3. Better electronics hardware as well as features.

EZSeries Text panels over the past six years have proven to be one of the most successful text panel HMIs due to a very sturdy design, lower cost point and programming that is much more advanced than the Optimate series. EZ 220 panels are excellent direct replacement for Optimate 600 series and EZ220P panels are great replacements for the Optimate series 1000 panels. The panel cut out is identical.
