General Description: The Best Micro Modular Automation Controller with Built-In Operator Interface
EZSeries TextPLC is a combination of a powerful Operator Interface and a high-end modular PLC. It is an ideal solution for a machine control that needs a character based HMI and a high power PLC at a real good price. The combined features of EZ Text Panel and PLC are available in a compact design which is less than 2.6" in depth. EZSeries TextPLC has 2 built-in ports. RS232 port to program the Text panel and PLC by changing DIP switch positions available on the PLC mother board, and the second RS485/422 port for communication that supports modbus RTU or ASCII. EZSeries TextPLC also has a provision for an optional Ethernet port for modbus TCP/IP, optional devicenet slave card or optional profibus slave card on the PLC. All of these features are available at an incredible starting price at $272 for a 2 line 20 char. LCD display. Third port option costs from $79 for DeviceNet, $99 for Modbus TCP/IP and $129 for Profibus.
The PLC in this Integrated unit is essentially the same EZ PLC available as a stand-alone product. This is a high-end modular PLC sporting 3ms scantime, 64K byte of user memory, 8192 variables, 8 PID loops, and plug-in I/O modules including intelligent counter and PLS modules. This PLC also fetures extremely easy to use Drag-n-Drop software.
The compact design of EZSeries TextPLC not only saves panel space, it also reduces enclosure costs as well as wiring costs. With EZSeries TextPLC you can afford to go to a smaller enclosure or eliminate a second enclosure all together. The need for a communication cable between the Operator Interfacel and PLC is also eliminated.
If the machine has to communicate with other devices such as Power Meter, temperature scanner, barcode reader, motor devices, barcode printers etc which communicate on modbus RTU or ASCII, then the user can make use of the built-in RS-485/RS-422 port which supports modbus RTU or ASCII protocol. If there are more than one machine to be monitored and controlled by the supervisory control system in a network, port 2 which supports modbus RTU or optional Ethernet port which supports modbus TCP/IP can be utilised.
If the machine has to communicate with Profibus network or DeviceNet network, optional Profibus slave card or DeviceNet slave card are available for which EZSeries TextPLC will act as slave to their respective network master.
The PLC of this combination unit can also act as a Modbus master or can communicate over optional Modbus TCP/IP, which allows it to connect to additional EZ PLCs for expansion of its I/Os upto 2000.
