PLC of this combined unit has a built-in RS485/RS422 port which supports both Modbus RTU protocols. This port can act as Modbus master and as well as Modbus slave. RS 422 / RS 485 can be networked to power meters, temperature scanners, barcode scanners, and motor drives etc. It can also be used to communicate to Touchpanels via Modbus RTU protocol.

The EZSeries TextPLC can also be ordered with Ethernet which supports Modbus TCP/IP for an incredible price of $99. By using this port EZSeries TextPLC can communicate to SCADA, Touch panels and of course our own EZPLCs and EZSeries TextPLCs to form a distributed I/O Network. Beside simply having Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP, the PLC has the unique capability of becoming a Master or a Slave under software control. Most other PLCs are hardware configured to be either Master or Slave.
