AVG comes from a background in the automotive industry where downtime is measured in ten's of thousands of dollars per hour . Everyone knows that PLCs came out of the automotive industry and very shortly were required to have "On-Line Edit" to make changes in the PLC program without shutting down the machine. So it was only natural that AVG engineers incorporated this feature into their Touchpanel design as early as 1992. "On-Line Edit" in HMIs is an exclusive feature of the AVG touchpanels.
"On-LIne Edit" allows the screen design to be debugged during trial runs or project commissioning with the machine/process still in operation. It eliminates guess work and blind trouble shooting. Similarly, screen changes can be made to the Touchpanel without even having to shutdown power to either the touchpanel or PLC and without disconnecting the communication between the two. |
