EZ PLC can now handle 8 - 2048 I/O points, Introducing new Distributed PLC Programming Software - January 2007
 EZ PLCs can now handle 8 to 2048 I/O's with highest flexibility. This is possible by communicating multiple EZPLCs through RS485 via Modbus RTU or through Ethernet port via Modbus TCP/IP. EZ PLC is available in 4 base models 4 slot, 6 slot, 8 slot and 12 slot. Each slot can handle maximum up to 8 I/O point.
The Distributed PLC scheme of EZ PLC makes these little yet extremely powerful PLCs to be operated from a master PLC which handles all the logic as well as individual PLCs executing their own local logic and yet communicating with the master PLC.
Along with this feature we are also introducing an upgrade to the EZ PLC Programming Software that allows all the EZ PLCs in a network to be programmed from any one of the Ethernet ports in the network or even the RS232 port on the PLC designated as the master. This new firmware and software upgrade, Rev. level 2.0, eliminates the need to use Modbus protocols to implement the distributed structure. Instead it handles the network communication using an internal EZ protocol. This software is currently available as "Beta" version and is scheduled for a full release by the end of Jan, 2007.
Same feature has been included in EZ Text PLC's PLC and EZ Touch PLC's PLC. These integrated HMI and PLC controls can now handle 32, 48 or 64 local I/Os as well as expand up to 2048 I/O points in the system.

These protocols are available right on the built-in Ethernet port in the EZ Series CE touch panels. No extra option card or “U” option is needed to deploy these HMIs on the industrial Ethernet networks. You can still add DH+, Remote I/O, Profibus, Devicenet, CC Link or Modbus Plus option cards to these panels, but the panel can be configured only for one protocol.
Incorporation of these Ethernet protocols in the Ethernet port of the EZ Series CE Touch panels makes these panels the most cost competitive Open Platform HMIs in the market, starting at $499 for a 6" WOB Touchpanel with all of these Ethernet protocols as well as full acess to the world of Windows CE.

 Taking a cue from its sister division Autotech Controls, who has been a leader in the field of Programmable Limit Switches (PLS) for the last 31 years and who pioneered the concept of “Fine-Tune in Motion”, as well as feature upgrade request from one of its major EZ Touch customers, EZAutomation is introducing this brand new and exclusive feature in its EZ Series Touch panels. You no longer need a PC to change your recipes or even more importantly fine-tune them without shutting down the machine or the process. All you do is to call-up the recipe on the panel and make changes to its ingredients right from its touch screen. Just Increment or Decrement the set-points. It is that EZ! No more excruciating trial, errors and guesses to come up with the best recipes for the types of products you are manufacturing on your machine. The changes can be instantly stored inside the touch panel as you make them, providing real “Fine-tune in Action”.
EZAutomation introduces EZ Remote I/O - January 2007
 The EZ I/O is now available as Remote I/O to function as a high performance world class industrial I/O for any PLC or Soft PLC on a PC. The new EZ RIO configuration software available for just $49, makes connection to any one of the supported networks, real EZ to implement. All you have to do, is to choose the network from a drop-down menu, choose the node number and it will automatically assign the appropriate addresses for the Remote I/O. You no longer have to write ladder logic to configure the I/O, it is done automatically through this new software. The available protocols are Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP/IP or DeviceNet or Profibus. This is one of a kind software not available from any other automation supplier in the market. You have to try this software to feel its simplicity and power.
It is a well known fact that PLC manufacturers make most of their profit not on their CPUs but their I/O and that is one of the reasons the cost of I/O from these suppliers including Automationdirect.com is too high. EZ RIO now slashes the cost of industrial I/O by almost a factor of 10 in some cases, but at least by a factor of two. For example, you can get an incredibly high performance 32 I/O system on DeviceNet for just $286 as compared to equivalent Terminator I/O for more than $800 and as much as $1200 from Rockwell.
EZ Remote I/O offers incredible savings in most automation project implementations.
EZ PLC now can handle 8 Autotuned PID Loops - January 2007
 The incredible EZPLC can handle 8 Auto-tuned PID Loops for an incredible price of $111 plus analog I/O modules. Also it offers true versatility when it comes to Analog I/O. These modules are available in 4 Analog In/4 Analog Out in either 0-5, 0-10 voltage range or 0-20, 4-20 mA currently range. The ranges can be selected in the field, by DIP switch settings in respective voltage and current modules. The EZ PLC also has an exclusive PID monitor that allows the Auto tune cycle to be monitored and charted in Xcel to achieve the best PID settings. This feature is available in Rev. 1.4.
This advanced capability to handle 8 PID loops simultaneously is possible because of the use of a 40 Mhz 32 bit coldfire processor inside the EZ PLC. Those familiar with PLCs can appreciate the value of this feature available only in very high end PLC's such as CompactLogix and ControlLogix, costing ten to twenty times more than this incredible EZ PLC.
EZ Touch Panel's Advanced Alarm Management - January 2007
 EZ Automation / AVG has enhanced the Alarm handling capability of its EZ Series Touch panels. Now it has one of the best Alarm management systems. The alarms can be triggered from any PLC tag values either in discrete On/Off mode or comparing tag values to preset low and high limits created in an alarm database. The Alarm banner can be programmed to be located anywhere on the screen. It is no longer limited to a banner on the bottom of the screen. In fact for good alarm management you may want to create a dedicated alarm screen which monitors all alarms. The EZ Series panels have an alarm history object that when pressed shows which alarms triggered, Alarm count and Alarm details for each occurrence. The Alarm detail shows the cause of the Alarm, tag value, hi-low limits and when it was cleared. Alarm database can be imported as well as exported to M S Excel. Alarm history database can also be exported to M S Excel.
The above feature is available in both EZ CE Touch panel and EZ Touch PLC.

 EZ Automation has expanded EZ Series family of Operator Interfaces by Introducing direct Sunlight Readable Touch panels with 1000 nits LCDs and EZmarquees with direct sunlight readable LEDs. All of our TFT models from 6", 8", 10" to 15" have this capability. All of our Red color marquees also have this feature. Customers are encouraged to contact the Factory for price and availability of these models.

EZ Series Touch Panels with Exclusive Built-In Photo Editor- January 2007
 EZAutomation/AVG continues to add extremely innovative features to its well acclaimed EZ programming software. We are now adding a Photo Editor that works like the Microsoft paint program to edit any bitmaps before they are even placed in the main application. However, you do not have to go outside this programming software to fill colors or edit the picture. You do not have to have or learn Photo editing software to edit images. EZ Marquees, Now with last message stored in flash - October 2006
Now in EZ Marquees, the last message sent to the Marquee is stored in Flash. Upon power cycle the marquee displays the stored message. Even though the EZMarquee was designed to be a Slave marquee simply displaying the message being sent to it by a master, we have had a number of requests from our customers to add this feature. So, here it is.
EZ Text Panels can Now communicate with AB PLCs via DH 485 protocol - October 2006
 EZText panels are an excellent choice for low cost PLC operator interface requiring only text messages. Since the introduction of the Vacuum Fluorescent models, we have had numerous requests to add DH485 driver to the these panels as they have become excellent replacements for the obsolete AB Data Liners. Now we have it across all models of EZText panels.
EZ PLC featuring Modbus TCP/IP - September 2006
 EZ Automation introduces Modbus TCP / IP protocol in its EZ PLC product line. This feature is now available on all its EZPLC, EZ TouchPLC as well its EZ Text PLC models having Ethernet port options. There is no charge for this extra feature. You can also download this upgrade from this website at no cost. The $99 Ethernet option on these incredibly low priced PLC's is just another example of EZAutomation's continued innovation. Now more than one EZPLC can be networked through Ethernet via Modbus TCP/IP for I/O expansion. This port can also be used for communicating Touch panels / HMI / SCADA via Modbus TCP / IP through Ethernet.
Another point to remember is that EZ PLC can act both as a master or slave under program control. In fact during the program scan itself, the EZ PLC can switch from master to slave or vice-versa.
EZ PLC Project / Application with Password Protection - September 2006
 EZ Automation introduces password protection on its PLCs for the project / Application developed by an OEM or an SI. In order to even view the program the protected project password is required to be entered. With this feature the application writer can protect his/her investment of intellectual property not to be copied by third parties.
This feature is also available in the EZ Series Touch panels whereby the user is required to enter a password to upload the application program to a PC.
The above feature for PLC IP protection is also available in EZ Text PLC and EZ Touch PLC.
EZ Series Touch Panels' Incredible Data Acquisition System for just $99 add-on - September, 2006
 EZ Automation introduces EZ Daq software for data acquisition from EZ Touch Panels and EZCE Touch Panels. EZ Daq uses the RS232 programming port to a PC or Ethernet for communicating with multiple panels allowing data acquisition in a PC remote from the panel. EZ Daq software collects and saves tag data from one or more (connected and running) AVG/EZAutomation panels. The user specifies tags and schedules for data acquisition. Data files are organized in a convenient, user selectable format (tab delimited or CSV) and can be opened in Excel or in any text editor. The EZ Daq application that runs on a PC is used to create the data acquisition schedule file. The panel from which the data is collected must be connected to the PC for creating the schedule file. Once the schedule file is created, the application can start collecting and storing the acquired data. With EZCE Touch panel, the user has the option of collecting data on the panel itself using the EZ DaqCE application. EZ Daq Software installed on your PC can select any tag you want to monitor on the PLC / Panel, watch the data coming in real time (as compared to receiving only a snap-shot when certain event occurs) and plot it into an Excel sheet automatically. Time intervals on event triggers can be selected from a wide range of option.
EZ CE has the additional capability of viewing the acquired data history right on the panel instead of having to remove the the Compact Flash card and plugging it into a PC for review.
EZDaq makes the EZ Series touchpanels the most advanced data collecting PLC Touch panels at the lowest cost, as the EZdaq feature, just like all the other features in our panels, is available on all the models starting with $349 for 6" White on Blue model.
EZ PLC's User Program Stored in flash- June 2006
 Now you can save the user program in non volatile Flash memory instead of battery backed up RAM increasing the reliability to preserve user program even in case of power loss. This powerful feature continues to enhance the EZPLC to be the most powerful modular PLC at an incredibly low price.
This feature is also available in EZ Text PLC and EZ Touch PLC.
EZ PLC with Engineered Plastic/Translucent Snap-In Cover - June 2006
 EZPLC's are now available in engineered plastic housings without any price adder. These housings also have a see-trough cover through which all LED's are visible. Cable routing is done through the bottom of the PLC. The EZ PLC product line is thus a step better than most PLC's in that, the cover offers an additional layer of protection from dust and accidental spills . This is presently available for 4 slot and 8 slot base models.
You can also purchase plastic see-thru covers for the 32 I/O as well as 64 I/O EZ TouchPLC models. Please note that whereas the EZPLC is now in a totally enclosed housing, the EZ TouchPLC only has a snap on cover bought as an accessory.
EZ PLC as Modbus Slave and Modbus Master - March 2006
EZPLCs are also now available with built-in RS485/RS422 port which supports both Modbus master and Modbus slave protocols. RS485/422 port supports Modbus RTU that can be networked to power meters, temperature scanners, barcode scanners, and motor drives etc. This port can also be used to communicate to Touchpanels via Modbus RTU protocol. Modbus Master and Modbus slave are configured through software, giving the the user the flexibility to expand his I/Os at no additional cost. In fact during the program scan itself, the EZ PLC can switch from master to slave or vice-versa.
EZ Series Touch Panel's Project Simulation Feature - Saves development time even more - January 2006
 Project Simulation - Tremendous time saving feature now on EZ Series Touch Panes. In addition to the unique and exclusive On-line programming feature of these panels, Project simulation allows you to check the program in the PC itself, even before it is loaded on the panel. For example, to check the operation of the temperature gauge by changing the "R1" tag value in the "Change Tag Value" window, the movement of the needle inside the different color bands can be checked out just by clicking on "Increase" or "Decrease". This enables the user to Simulate projects before transferring to panel. The user can Interact, Navigate and Debug right on his / her PC even BEFORE transferring to panel.
This feature is also available in EZ Touch PLC and EZ CE Touch Panels.
EZ Series Panel Animation object shows Machine/Process Condition Real Time - January 2006
 EZ Series touch panels now have the capability of transforming static bitmaps into Animated objects. The user can use the Animation objects to show the machine or process condition in real time. For example: it can show the position of the part on the conveyor or operation of the punch press.
This is included in EZ Touch PLC and EZ CE Touch Panels.
EZ Series Touch Panels now offering Unicode, Universal Languages for Every Region of the World -
January 2006
 All EZ Series panels now support Unicode, Universal language for every region of the world. The Unicode feature of the EZ Series Touch panel HMIs allows the programmer to further enhance its multi language capability of these touch panels by providing means to display text in any language supported by "Unicode". Microsoft Windows has this feature built-in and needs to be activated for its use. You can select the language input, size of font and type of font for the following objects:
1. Text Entry
2. Indicator Button
3. Indicator Light
4. Multi-State Indicator.
Now programming in multiple languages has become easy by Language Import / Export. Export all text strings to a spread sheet; Have a translator fill-in the corresponding text in other language(s), Import the spreadsheet back in the project to make it multi-lingual.
This feature is supported by EZ Touch PLC and EZ CE Touch Panel.
